Aim & Conquer Meditative Discourse: Transform Your Frame on Yourself and Others
Note: The following is a transcript of a meditative discourse, with headings ... strategies ... added after the fact.
Notice Your Relationship with Movement, and How It Impacts Your Relationships with Others
One of the key dimensions when considering your relationships with others is to look at your relationship with yourself, especially your relationship with movement. How you move your mind and your body matters. Where you are moving to matters. And when you start to care about what truly matters to you, then you start to recognize how much you matter to others … and the degree to which you matter makes your life meaningful. That means you must take your relationships with some degree of care, some degree of understanding. Take them on as if it is your responsibility to show up as your best self for them.
Take Greater Responsibility for How You Show Up, Including with Technology
And when you are engaging technology, you ought to consider being the best version of you so that it can learn about you and your best self, and give you more of what you are choosing to become. You are choosing to take your role as an agent in your life more seriously. The arena that you are choosing to play in is one where you get to express your agency, and you are happy to do so. You are choosing to take responsibility for how you play. On your team, you are choosing to matter, and you understand that there is a direct relationship between how you perform, who you choose to be, what you believe, and how you actually care.
Challenge the Complacent You and Learn to Adapt Your Frame Beneficially
You start to recognize that caring matters, that when you show up, willing to challenge that complacent you that you have been for so long, that “you” that seems to take things for granted ... when you challenge that version of yourself, you recognize right away that there is a certain degree of inertia at play and that you must willfully move yourself in a different way, that the very process of evolution that is taking place inside you is to come forth through you, is to express as you, in the total scope of aliveness that is framed by more than just your thought process. You are looking to be more than the story, than the frame that you possessed yesterday. That version of you can become unframed. And you can at least learn, through this process of unframing, that your frame has the capacity to be fluid.
Find Transformative Partnerships with Others in which You Allow Yourself to be Uncomfortable
When you are able to become fluid in your cognitive abilities, you start to flow in your life. You start to bring a sense of ease and enjoyment to every engagement, even if that engagement actually rips apart the measures of what you consider to be well-being. You find out firsthand that you can have a transformative partnership with others that is not based in your idea of what is good or safe or easy or convenient. You are breaking apart all those complacent attitudes and choosing to care about something more than just you. You are taking your civic responsibilities a little bit seriously. There is a certain concern in your heart for your culture, for society, for the value you bring to the rest of humanity.
Empty Yourself Out so that You Can Live in a Way that Frees You
And you must do this without filling yourself up with something that is not true. You are not seeking to be “full” of anything. You are choosing to empty out, to give it all away, to give it all up, to release. And through that process of shedding and breaking away from your past, you are not taking on a new responsibility. You are simply living up to the one that you chose ... and the one that is choosing you. You are getting to respond to the life that you are living, and you can live it in a way that frees you, that opens you up to a more fluid frame, one where you can flow in your body and mind, one where you can pause, one where you can resist, if need be. You can change pace and tonality. You can feel the energy moving you, and your whole movement is one that creates more freedom for you. It releases you from having to be a certain way, from having others have to be a certain way.
Take On Your Responsibility to Respond to Difficulty with Ease and Enjoyment
Then, your partnership can change. There is room for you, for others, for it all, to be … for life to exist in all its variety. And you get to choose, and you get to say how you feel about it, how you respond to it. Your responsibility is to take that ability, of responding to stress and pressure, to difficulty, with a certain ease and enjoyment. It is yours to take on. Take it on well. Take it on meaningfully. Take it on skillfully. Then, you recognize, yes, this is your power. This is what you bring, and you are to give it to yourself. Don't be complacent about it. Care more. You got this.
